How We Do It
Habitat has been drawing the community together since 1989 to build decent affordable houses, which contributes to the overall health and stability of the Lehigh Valley community. Producing these houses that are affordable to the most needy of families is complicated, requiring Habitat to bring together a wide range of human, financial and material resources. Government funding has enabled Habitat to acquire properties and provide infrastructure. Through partnerships with corporate and individual donors combined with grants from foundations, organizations and congregations of all faiths – and, most importantly, with the generous volunteer labor provided by members of the community - Habitat is able to offer these houses to qualified families at cost with a zero-interest mortgage.
